Barbara's Fish Trap is a small but very good seafood restaurant in Princeton By The Sea, a few miles north of Half Moon Bay. The restaurant is on pilings directly over the beach in Pillar Point Harbor. Fresh fish, shellfish, and even pasta and a few other land-lubber dishes are on the menu. It is a very busy restaurant and parking is a bit difficult especially during the tourist season, and waits can be significant, but it's definitely worth it. Go inside and get your name on the waiting list as soon as you arrive. My favorites are the calamari, the cajun snapper sandwich, the corn fritters, the fish and chips, steamed clams--pretty much everything is great! Get the carrot cake when they have it, it's made with real cream cheese frosting. Bring a jacket; it can get a bit chilly waiting for a table outside. Recommend you go for a walk along the docks afterward, it's very pleasant. If you're a pilot, you should know that the restaurant is in easy walking distance from the south end of Half Moon Bay Airport.
